Families USA Report on Uninsured Children

Families USA, a national partner of Citizens for Missouri's Children, has published a report titled, No Shelter From the Storm: America's Uninsured Children. Among its findings, based on data from 2003-2005, are that 121,000 of Missouri's Children are without any form of health insurance and, as a result, are much less likely to receive adequate preventive medical, dental and mental health care they need.

Citizens for Missouri's Children has updated the statistics in the Families USA report to reflect the large number of children that have lost their public health insurance coverage due to recent eligibility changes mandated by the Missouri Legislature.

If you would like to help change this growing problem for Missouri's Children, there are several things you can do.

1. Go to the Kids First Campaign web site and join our Children's Corps to show your support for Missouri's children and to learn how you can get involved in your community.

2. Become a member of Citizens for Missouri's Children to help us continue to keep you informed on our progress on behalf of children.

3. Go to the the Campaign for Children's Health web site to sign an online petition urging Congress and the president to make adequate health insurance for all children a national priority.
